If you are volunteering as a Manager, Coach, Team Parent, Umpire, or Board Member, you must complete the following:
All Managers, Coaches, Team Parents, and Umpires must complete the CDC's Head-Ups Concussion Training AND Abuse Awareness for Adults. All volunteers must also complete background checks before being approved/accepted by the board of directors. Pennsylvania State Law requires any volunteer that may come in contact with a minor to be cleared for child abuse history and criminal background history.
If you have lived in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania continuously for the past ten years: you need to complete (1) a PA Child Abuse Clearance, (2) a PA State Police Criminal Background Check https://epatch.pa.gov/home and 3) an affidavit that you have resided in PA for ten consecutive years with a clean child abuse/criminal history background.
If you have not lived in Pennsylvania for at least ten years, then you must complete (1) a PA Child Abuse Clearance, (2) a PA State Police Criminal Background Check https://epatch.pa.gov/home and (3) an FBI Criminal History Clearance that requires fingerprints (when registering, use Service Code: 1KG6ZJ). The first two clearances are processed at no cost to you. If you require the FBI clearance, there is a processing fee. In addition to the above clearances, all Little League volunteers must be cleared through Little League's background investigation system, First Advantage. When you apply to volunteer as a Manager, Coach, Umpire, Team Parent, or Board Member, you must complete a Volunteer Application Form (listed above). West End Little League will enter your information in Little League Inc's First Advantage system to conduct a multi-state records check. The results of this check, in conjunction with the Pennsylvania clearances, will be used to process your Volunteer Application.
Important Note: The result of any clearance investigation, and all information provided in order to conduct that clearance, will be treated as confidential and use solely for the purpose of determining eligibility to volunteer for W.E.L.L.
